Fashion Blog
Sustainability, it’s a term that’s becoming more and more prevalent throughout the fashion world. But the question is, what does sustainable fashion actually mean? It’s a term for clothes that have been designed and created in a way that can be, quite literally, sustained, while protecting both the environment. More and more brands are becoming eco-minded, as they consider how fashion can have a positive effect on the environment rather than just reducing its impact. At Jonzara, we are proud to showcase many sustainable brands, and this blog will take you through a few of our key brands and what their message is.

Gerry Weber stands strong with sustainability with their ‘I WEAR, I CARE’ collection, along with eco-friendly brand Taifun. Along with their beautiful styles and flattering fits, the sustainable, fair production of their fashion is equally important for them. This is shown throughout their fabulous ‘I WEAR, I CARE’ collection, which ensures that the resources, people, animals and plants are treated with respect.

Diving deep into their materials, they use GOTS-certified cotton, and the materials used in the collection include Lenzing, Ecovero and viscose, all of these are obtained from the renewable raw material wood. The production of these fibres is especially gentle on resources and results in 50% less emissions and water consumption when compared to generic viscose. Alongside this, the pieces also contain recycled and upcycled materials, as well as linen and the cellulose fibre lyocell. All extremely important elements of trying to make an eco-friendly difference to the world of fashion.

Satin Style Dress With Floral Print
Gerry Weber and Taifun have a fabulous focus on sustainable materials in their pieces, which are mainly natural materials, but recycled fabrics and dyeing methods do also play an important role in sustainable collections.
Another brand that has a fabulous focus on sustainability are Copenhagen based brands Part Two and Kaffe. They are proud to showcase their materials such as organic cotton, ecovero, tenzel, recycled polyester and more. They have stated that they ‘acknowledge that they can do more, and they are constantly looking at new ways to improve our overall production processes and products.’

Their eco-friendly ethos mainly stems from the fact they operate around 17 different countries worldwide, and they are aware that the environmental impact the fashion industry can have on this.

We have many accessory and homecare brands that also focus on sustainable styles and vegan friendly styles. One brand that is massively focused on this is Loqi, who prioritise the quality and durability of their sustainably produced bags.
They have partnered with planetly to go co2 neutral and in 2020, they switched 100% recycled GreenCircle material, to greenpeace electricity, to FSC certified packaging and to sustainable shipping partners, making a massive change in their eco-friendly ethos. They are totally committed to reduce and avoid emissions wherever possible.
